Have you tried consulting with a naturopathic clinic that offers IV nutrient therapy?
I think many of them include magnesium in their IV drips.
They would also be able to assess your needs and administer it safely, especially that a prescription is required.

You can check the local pharmacies in Vancouver, they might have what you need
